Should Hollywood Make Another “Twilight” Movie
At this point the question is not should Hollywood make another Twilight movie. The question is when will Hollywood make another Twilight movie. And that question can be answered right now. The fourth movie in the Twilight Saga is already being filmed and scheduled to be released on November 18, 2011. The fourth part of the saga, Breaking Dawn, will be made into two movies actually. The second part is scheduled for November 2012.
Even if there weren’t a schedule, it isn’t surprising at all that Hollywood would make another Twilight movie. The films have been a phenomenon, particularly with the teenage demographic. The second film, New Moon, grossed about 70 million. That’s more than enough reason for the film studios to keep making these movies. Plus the whole vampire craze there’s around with shows like Trueblood.
Plus they have to finish off the saga and it would be a very bad move by the studios to just stop at the third book. The fanbase is so strong that it wouldn’t matter if these movies made as much money as they have. The studios would simply be obligated to release it. It’s great to know that Stephenie Meyer, the author of the books, will be co-producing the film.
I even think that they will keep releasing spinoffs after the fourth film. That will probably split it’s fans, but that’s how Hollywood does things. I even see television series being made in the future. That’s not far off and probably something that’s being discussed at this moment.
I wouldn’t count too much on the scheduled release date however. When films are still being made, these dates tend to change a lot. Plus there could be some other big movie released on that date making the studios hold it back for a future date.
