“Mean Girls” Really Do Exist In High School
“Mean Girls” is a popular teen comedy that came out in 2004. It stars Lindsay Lohan and it is about a clique of girls whose aim in life is to tear others girls down. Even though it is a film that was meant for entertainment purposes, the sad reality is that mean girls really do exist in high schools. In fact, the number of girls who are mean to other girls appears to be growing in high school.
High school is a very difficult time in a young person’s life. There is the pressure to make good grades so that one has a bright future and teens also face a lot of pressure from their parents. Being a teenager is filled with pressure, but girls should have the right to come to school and learn without being made fun of. No one deserves to be bullied, regardless of whether or not they are different.
Girls should be building each other up rather than tearing each other down. The power to stop today’s high schools from mirroring ” Mean Girls” lies in the students. Students who stand up and say that teasing and bullying is wrong can help prevent those problems from occurring.
