“Juno” is a movie that shows the story of a teenage girl who gets pregnant. She opts to give her baby up for adoption, and ends up getting back to her normal teenage life after her baby is born. While some people like to not think about their teenage children having sex, it does happen. The main character, Juno, finds herself in a bad situation and figures out what would be best for her and her baby.
This movie doesn’t really send teenagers the wrong message, because it shows that there are consequences to Juno’s actions. She got pregnant and she has to make some hard decisions in regards to abortion, keeping her baby and adoption. The movie shows a taboo subject in a realistic light, showing what many teens have dealt with when it comes to an unexpected pregnancy.
If a parent watches “Juno” with their teenager, it can open up a dialogue about the subject of teen pregnancy, sex and birth control. While most parents may want to avoid this subject because of the nature of it, but it is important to educate your teen about sex. This makes “Juno” a great movie to watch with your kids.
